About Mortgage Bankers Association of Hawaii

Who We Are

The Mortgage Bankers Association of Hawaii (MBAH), an adjunct chapter of the national Mortgage Bankers Association, represents all segments of the real estate finance industry and is dedicated to helping its members conduct their business.

We promote fair and ethical lending practices and foster professional excellence among real estate finance employees through a wide range of educational programs and publications.

MBAH acts as one of the industry’s leading voices on legislative and regulatory issues and hosts a variety of conferences and meetings that provide members with the strategic tools, industry trends and resources needed to advance their business.

History of MBAH

MBAH is an adjunct association to the National Mortgage Bankers Association in Washington, DC. For over 40  years, our relationship with the National Association has included having the incoming or present Chairman of the Board of the National MBA visit Hawaii during our annual educational conference.

We have a long history of conferences and conventions, dating back to the days at the Turtle Bay Hyatt (now Turtle Bay Resort) on the North Shore of Oahu. In later years, conferences have been held at the Ihilani Resort in Ko Olina and in Waikiki, in co-operation with HAMB to boost attendance.

MBAH is a partner with the Building Industry Association and the Hawaii Association of Realtors for the annual Parade of Homes industry event. We also are a partner with the Hawaii Bankers Association (HBA) and often cooperate with the Hawaii Association of Mortgage Brokers, (HAMB) on legislative and City Council issues.
